Wang & Fang discuss the benefits of coopertaive learning through the use of blogs. This discussion encouraged me to think about the way I teach classes. Many times my students have group projects where they must meet outside of class. If we were to incorporate this type of technology into our classroom, the students could continue spending time working and learning together to successfully complete their goals. This article definitely has my mind reeling!

These students work together as a group and independent from me as an instructor. The students are allowed the opportunity to choose their own groups as the create their own project. A blog could help them organize and maintain their learning process.
Now that I have had the opportunity to create a blog, I am starting to see the potential this tool may have for my students.
Jan,
I am just starting to appreciate the use of blogs in class. Do you find it hard to “stand back” and let students create their own learning? Is the transistion from “old teaching” harder than you realized?
